Drunk Monk

Once upon a time, before the invention of the printing press books were handwritten by monks. They made mistakes, a lot of mistakes. One of the mistakes that they would make is that they would mix up the lines they were transcribing. My Latin professor called this mistake a “drunk monk.”

Well, tonight I had one of those moments. Although I wasn’t drunk, exhausted, but sober, I drunk monked. Thankfully, I unlike many of the monks, caught my mistake before it was too late.

Lines six and seven are woven together…accidents happen.

Also, Facebook reminded me this morning that it was exactly three years ago today that I saw this book for the first time. I was overwhelmed by the text then and am still.
