Opus De Civitate Dei (Leuven, 1488)

Do you like history?
Do you like old books?
Do you know who St. Augustine is?
Are you curious about what goes into translating an ancient text?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions then this is the place for you!

Welcome to Talking With Augustine. Over the course of the next twenty or so weeks, I will be transcribing and translating a selection from a copy of Augustine’s City of God with a commentary by Thomas Waleys and Nicholas Trivet. The text was printed in 1488 in Leuven.

This is a journey into the life of an historian that loves coffee, puppies, baked goods, musicals, church history, and our Holy Mother, as she works on her capstone project.
